Penistone Parade 2001

An annual event which always draws out the crowds. First, something from the 2001 parade. Local businesses, schools and other organisations dressed up their floats for the parade. The circuit took in Market Street and Park Ave. finishing at the Showground for judging by George Punt, whose turn it was to be the mayor in 2001.

As well as the many floats, there was a marching band, horses, fire engines, and custom cars which all helped to make it into a very noisy and popular event. There was also a small gala on the showground and this year saw the return of the helicopter rides, which has helped with this website. A special extra was sky divers.
