Another Glorious Day in Penistone
The sun blessed us again on Parade day, Sunday 8th June, with good warm and dry weather. Here is something of the flavour of the event. The first picture was a lucky shot of Penistone's new mayor for 2008, Paul Hand-Davis, from the day before the parade. Gala pictures will arrive soon.
(More pictures to come) Meanwhile, see if you can guess what is odd about this small picture, below right (answer below).
Penistone Gala
Centre of the Gala events was a stunt team, which involved motorbikes, fire and explosions. Yorkshire TV sent along a camera but it might not have made the local news. Also on the Showground field in no particular order was: a small funfair, helter skelter, Yorkshire Rifles paintball range, dog show, beer and refreshments tents, trade stalls, Penistone AM Radio, vintage cars, Kinght's Crusade, arts and crafts tent, bouncy castle, jungle slide, chip van, ice-cream van, Penistone Centre Stage, and lots of other attractions big and small. The new mayor was seen to have a good look around all of the attractions.
Right, have you worked out what this peculiar view is. Of course you have. It is the reflection from the bell of the brass instrument, after some picture manipulation to straighten it out.
