Recommendations
Businesses of Repute
Here is JB's service to mankind. The best recommendations come from past customers and I have personal experience of all of these people. They won't muck you about or rip you off.
Martin
Thorpe - Plumber & Electrical
Martin comes highly recommended as both trustworthy and competent. He is a plumber, sparkie, gas appliance installer, joiner, glazier
and more. He also has a noted ability in adjusting and balancing central heating systems, which can help to keep energy costs down. Drinks any warm beverage - or Worthingtons in the British Legion.

- DP Glazing - Double-glazing and more
Dave Poyser has been in double-glazing for something like nineteen years but does not waste money on advertising. He does not need to, with having a good reputation. DP can do all types of glazing work from individual windows, conservatories or the full house and won't mess you about with hidden costs or false promises. The price you agree is the price you pay. Everything meets the current regs. Dave can also change your Euro-locks to something more secure. Tea drinker.

- CD Leach - Property Maintenance
Colin and Son are based in Deepcar but have several customers on our side of the hill. They have done a good personal job of uPVC fascias, soffits & guttering. They also do: pointing, brickwork, plastering, uPVC windows, doors & conservatories, peddle-dash, flat roofing and probably a lot more. Free quotations and the agreed price is the price you pay, with no hidden surprises. Keep them going with mugs of builders' tea every 2 hours, no sugar.

- The Paint Spot - Car Body Repairs
Highly recommended for car body repairs and respraying and situated next to Jackie's in Spring Vale. Dave Bailey is an old mate who I've known since Sunday School days. He and his team do good work and won't rip you off. He sometimes renovates the odd Triumph Herald or two and he is a member of their club. He's always busy - favourite quote: "Bonus, Bonus, Work, Work, Work". Dave has been known to play the guitar in his hairier days. Coffee drinker.

- Dyson Cote Farm
Pronounced 'Dyson Coit' and spelt like that on old maps. Their milk round comes from afarm above Underbank. Ken and Joyce have been here since Methuselah was a bairn. David and 't young 'un' do the farm work and Ian has an early milk round in all weathers. He also likes aeroplanes and Guinness. Too busy for tea or coffee. David has some unusual sayings, such as 'There's far too much happiness in the world', etc. He also has a foolproof recipe for cooking ground rice.
Tel. 01226 762398 to be put on the milk round or for spud deliveries.
- Eskia Computers
Local computer company based at the old wiremill, Oxspring. They offer a wide range of services, from personal
computers up to business networks and at realistic prices. My old mate Duncan has wide experience
and a good CV in the computing world. Drinks coffee.

- The Saturday Market Stall
This family-run business is in the market barn every Saturday morning, come rain, snow or sun, with a wide variety
of fresh fruit and vegetables. At other times, they can be found in their shop in Hoyland. They can easily beat the supermarkets on value, choice and
quality and they often have something new or unusual to try out.
You might like to advertise your business with Penistone LocalBiz at PGS. Now, when I were a lad, 'biz' meant something different.
