Thank Yous
Lots of Support
Since starting this project on 23rd July 2000, I have found a lot of help and enthusiasm from local people. I would like to thank all who have helped me, but especially:
- David Mackrill, (Don Press) for help with Penistone Almanacks and old photographs.
- Janet Armitage, for the loan of some very good pictures in her dad's old photo album. Janet's dad was the local councillor Frank Ashton.
- Stephen Glover for the '4472' pictures and some of Hartcliff Tower.
- Peter Lawford, for vinegar brewery pictures, frequent guestbook entries and being generally helpful.
- Steve Tales, for special access to the cinema and organ.
- The Library ladies for their help.
- Sam Thacker, Landlord of the White Hart, for loaning me aerial photographs and for some history of the White Hart.
- Paul Fieldsend for photo scans which pop up in a few places on the website.
- Alan Shelbourn and Father George for access to the church tower and their enthusiasm.
- Penistone Fire Service for letting me photograph their exercise.
- Dave Stuart for pictures of Dyson Cote ('Coit') Farm, Underbank and his dry wit.
- Ian Mitchell for an explanation of the Pasteurisation process and other help.
- Tony Martin for some corrections to the railway history.
- Alan Beever for loaning me various Penistone Almanacks.
- Christine Cooke for the loan of her school form photo.
- ClaraNet ISP for a very reliable internet service and 50MB of web space to play with.
- Madasafish ISP for 100MB of web space, a domain name and a fast broadband connection.
- Duncan Mitchell for another 500MB of webspace at Eskia Computers, Oxspring. Mostly used for the larger files of video and sound media.
- Penistone FM for interviewing me, for being a friendly bunch and for all that they have done for my home town.
- Barnsley Council for being such utter pigs that I could write a good many words about them.
- All who have linked their websites back to mine. (I have always linked back to them).
Finally
The biggest Thank You is to all of my website visitors. Without you there would have been no point in my efforts with this project.
